Towards the end of the last school holiday, I have to send my daughter back to UiTM Perlis. So we took the time to visit this Cave; The Gua Kelam in Wang Kelian / Kaki Bukit, near the Padang Besar, bordering with Thailand. It is a limestone cave and used to be a tin (?) mine. Being limestone, you can expect the stalactite and stalagmite formations....
Well... we were not wrong. Theres plentiful of them to whip up the wonders from our heart. It is just amazing.. The lighting was right and the cave looks kind of spooky and inviting at the same time.. Gone were the bat infested smells normally associated with caves. In fact I did not come across a single real bat... except may be a rock formation resembling a bat...
We walked over a wooden suspension bridge along the cave from one end and came out from another.
Along the way wonders upon wonders array the bridge walkway, from stone formations looking like a family of Zoombie drums to stalactites looking like sinister creatures from Dracula's movies.
The photos are quite bad because of the swaying wooden bridge and lack of better camera. All in all it was a very satisfying visit. Rm1 per head is just peanuts to savour this wonderful sights..
